theme - me 1
I believe that the theme of Mississippi Solo is that you can accomplish any goal or dream you have if you you give effort to with courage, strength, and passion. Eddy took on many battles to reach his dream of traveling the length of the Mississippi River in a canoe. One of these battles include when he had to make it past a huge barge that was traveling up the river (60). There was nothing he could do in this situation besides paddle to the shore in wait for the slow moving barge to pass, but it was something he had to do to move on to finish his journey. Also, at the very beginning of Eddy's journey, he had lost his gloves that kept his hands warm from the cold winter air that was moving in. Eddy had to paddle in his canoe through poor weather conditions which made him very cold and his hands ache very harmfully. Though, Eddy never gave up and that was just one of the many obstacles that he had faced to get through to reach his goal.

I agree that the theme is that you can accomplish anything you put your mind too. If Eddie was not determined to finish his journey then I do no think that he would be ablr to finish
ReplyDeletei agree with this post, many people set their mind to things and thats the only way they can accomplish things. many just look ahead to the reward at the end and set off to accomplish it.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this post. The best way to achieve your dreams and goals is to put courage and effort into what you're doing. Eddy clearly shows this throughout the book, especially when he continues on his journey after getting his mouth messed up.
