theme

The prominent theme of Mississippi Solo is you can do anything if you put your mind to it. This is shown when Eddy Harris says, "But for all my boldness and reaching out to embrace the world, what would be waiting for me out there on the river? Kindness or evil? Beauty or savagery? Whatever, i didn't want to miss a thing"(14). This shows that Eddy harris had the courage to things he wanted to even though he didnt know what dangers or obsatcles may occur on his trip and that he wanted to experience the unknown weather good or bad his mind was set to it beacause he didn't wanto miss a thing. This is also shown when Eddy harris says, "i decided to cnaoe down the mississippi river and to find out what i was made of "(2). this shows that no one else made him canoe down the mississippi river, insted he was the one who made the chioce on his own. eddy was determined to see what he was made of.

  1. I agree with the gist of what your saying here but i also believe its a little broad, because Eddy was able to do his journey because he had supporters to keep him motivated to achieve his dream.
